In the 1980s, small-case mines in China had developed rapidly; the demand for the crushers exceeded the supply. Due to funding limitations, the small mines didn’t want to choose high-price and difficult to maintenance jaw crusher. In order to meet these needs, many crusher manufacturers in China had introduced a wide range of small jaw crushers. The small jaw crusher had larger width which improved the output, and it was easy to match with ordinary jaw crusher. So that it was very popular in the small mines. The design standard and manufacturing level of Henan Hongxing Mining Machinery Company has reached the domestic advanced level. Professor Wang Hongxun and Mr. Ding Peihong designed the KX series of deep-cavity jaw crusher. Hundreds of devices have been in operation, praised by users.

At present, there are hundreds of PEW jaw crushers in various types of mines. In order to promote this type of product, the Beijing Mining Research Institute has established Beijing Novi Technology Co., LTD and jointed several famous crusher manufacturers to produce this series products. As early as 1930s, the PJ jaw crusher has reached 1500mm×2100 mm. This PJ jaw crusher has almost no significant changes for the late ten years. The PE compound pendulum jaw crusher is heading for the direction of larger-scale. In the 1960s, the maximum size PE crusher was 600mm×900mm. in the 1980s, PE - 750 mm x1060 mm, 900 mm x1200 mm, and 1200 mm×1500 mm series jaw crusher had been used in the large and medium-sized ore beneficiation plants and non-ferrous mine processing plants. 

In the 1990s, the crusher manufacturers at home and abroad had launched 1500 mm×2100 mm、1600 mm×2200 mm large compound pendulum jaw crusher. This jaw crusher has high capacity, lower power consumption, large crushing ratio and uniform size distribution, and has gradually replaced the simple pendulum jaw crusher. Many foreign famous manufacturers such as Mesto Minerals, the former A-C, Kobe Japan, Krupp Germany, Ceda U.S. had not produced the PJ simple pendulum jaw crusher.
